The Jefferson County Museum is a non-profit organization dependent on donors’ generosity and community support to fulfill its mission of collecting, preserving, and exhibiting items that interpret the county’s history.

In 2015, on the 50^th anniversary of the museum’s founding, we established the Fund for the Future to ensure that the county’s rich history is brought to life over the next 50 years. Money from the fund is used for three purposes:

• to acquire artifacts and archives, particularly where there are major gaps,
  so that the collection represents the full history of the county;
• to care for the remarkable collection using modern conservation methods; and
• to engage the public in new ways, including developing modern exhibits using
  new museum technology.
