Exciting news! Thanks to a recent donation from local resident Scott Coyle, the Museum now has an original barrel from a Sheetz rifle in the collection. The metal barrel has a silver inlay portion with the engraving "M Sheetz." The donor's research confirmed that it was a barrel made by Martin Sheetz c.1790, part of a family of Shepherdstown gunsmiths in the late 18th century. The barrel will be on display in our new exhibit when we reopen later this spring!
