As the weather gets colder, we're looking back on November of 1984, when this truck swerved to avoid a car that had skidded into its lane on a patch of ice on the 340 bridge, went through a concrete guardrail, and fell 75 feet into the Shenandoah River below. Miraculously, the driver of the truck survived the fall.![]()
