The daytrippers in this early 20th century photo are visiting Harpers Ferry sometime after the fire engine house that served as John Brown's fort was moved from its original location. In this recently acquired photo, these ladies are sitting on the monument on the original site of the fort, which still stands today. In the background you can see Harpers Ferry's power lines and stables belonging to "Jones."![]()

In the present day, there are plenty of places in the County to visit with the kids this week, including the Jefferson County Museum! We're open Tuesday-Saturday with a variety of local artifacts and photos on display.
Thank you to everyone who came out to our exhibit opening on Friday and our Revolutionary War History day on Saturday! We are so happy to be open to the public for our 60th year and to show off our new exhibit!![]()
