On this day in 1859, John Brown and his men crossed the Potomac River from their headquarters in Maryland into Harpers Ferry, beginning their abolitionist raid. This weekend, biographies from our new exhibit on the raid, featuring the 21 men who joined him in this endeavor, were displayed at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park just in time for the anniversary.
