On this day in 1901 (also a Thursday!) you could get your ticket at Charles Washington Hall to see scenes from the Spanish American War and other "pictures" on "Edison's Marvelous Projectoscope." Projectoscopes were an early form of motion picture technology with which sequential images were moved in front of a light source at a high speed. This broadside, one of the newest additions to our collection, is advertising scenes ranging from benign to very violent, but children could attend for just 10 cents!![]()
